Ashley Traylor, Special Education Advocate in the Quad Cities, welcoming families to Bridges 2 Advocacy

Who We Are

Bridges 2 Advocacy was founded on the belief that no family should have to face the special education system alone. Led by Ashley Traylor — a parent, former educator, and community volunteer — our team brings both lived experience and professional expertise to every family we serve. From volunteering at events like Special Olympics to guiding parents through the IEP process, we are dedicated to building bridges that connect children with the supports they need to thrive.

Over 30 years of combined expertise working with families.

At Bridges 2 Advocacy, our team brings together decades of experience across education, advocacy, and family support. From the classroom to community programs, we understand the challenges families face — and how to navigate them. This combined expertise allows us to provide practical solutions, compassionate guidance, and a strong voice for children with disabilities.

About us

Quad Cities Communities  trust our expertise.

At Bridges 2 Advocacy, we know how overwhelming it can feel when your child isn’t getting the support they need in school. That’s why we stand beside families every step of the way—making sure parents feel heard, children are valued, and schools are held accountable.

Over the past year, we’ve:

  • Offered more than 100 free strategy meetings to local families, helping them problem-solve barriers and find a clear path forward.

  • Reached hundreds of families through partnerships with charitable organizations, first responders, service providers, and schools.

  • Delivered workshops and trainings—online and in person—so parents, educators, and community partners better understand how to support children with disabilities.

Every child deserves the chance to succeed, and every family deserves an advocate in their corner. With your support, we can continue building bridges that connect families to resources, schools to accountability, and children to brighter futures.

Our vision

We envision a world where every child with a disability is seen, valued, and supported to reach their full potential—where families are informed and confident, schools are accountable, and communities work together to create inclusive futures without barriers.

Our mission

Bridges 2 Advocacy exists to empower families of children with disabilities by providing education, advocacy, and resources that ensure equitable access to services and supports. We work alongside parents, schools, and communities to break down barriers, protect rights, and build stronger pathways toward inclusion, independence, and opportunity.
